 The disadvantages of plastic gears are as follows:

  (1) low strength and poor rigidity, can not be used for transmission load of the occasion.

  (2) the use of temperature lower than the metal, on the one hand, plastic insulation, the heat generated during operation is not easy to distribute; the one hand, most plastic body heat resistance is not high, generally not more than 120 ℃. Therefore, plastic gears should not be used in high speed and high operating temperature of the place.

  (3) plastic coefficient of linear expansion, contraction, and oil absorption, the volume will rise, and thus poor dimensional stability.
